BCSS stands for Bassrat University of Computer Science and Social Studies. It is a HEC-recognized university established in 1998, located in Mingora, Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The official website is www.bcss.edu.pk.

BCSS offers admissions twice yearly โ Fall (AugustโSeptember) and Spring (JanuaryโFebruary). For Fall 2025, admissions are open from July 1, 2025. The last date to apply is August 20, 2025. Check the Admission Process page for current dates.

Yes. A non-refundable application processing fee of PKR 1,000 is charged at the time of submission. This is separate from the program admission fee and tuition fee. Payment can be made via bank challan, JazzCash, or EasyPaisa.
Yes, you may indicate a second choice program in the application form. However, you will need to submit a separate application form and fee for each program you wish to apply to officially.
After submission, your application is reviewed by the Admissions Committee. If you qualify for an entry test (for select programs), you will receive notification via SMS and email. Merit lists are published on the BCSS website after the closing date. Shortlisted candidates receive an offer letter.
Once submitted online, the form cannot be edited. If you have made an error, contact the Admissions Office immediately at admissions@bcss.edu.pk with your application reference number and the correction needed.

Yes, O-Level and A-Level qualifications are accepted. However, you must provide an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC (Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen) to validate your foreign qualifications. Apply for equivalence well in advance as it can take time to process.
The minimum age requirement is 17 years at the time of admission. There is no maximum age limit โ BCSS welcomes mature and returning students. A gap year affidavit may be required if there has been a break in your education.

Yes, transfer admissions are possible. Requirements include: a migration certificate from your previous HEC-recognized university, a minimum CGPA of 2.0, and credit transfer evaluation by BCSS academics. Maximum 50% of credit hours may be transferred.
Semester fee is payable at the start of each semester. You can pay via bank challan at designated branches (HBL, MCB, UBL), online banking transfer, JazzCash, or EasyPaisa. The exact due date is announced at the beginning of each semester. See the Fee Structure page.
The application processing fee (PKR 1,000) is non-refundable. The admission fee and tuition fee are also generally non-refundable once enrollment is completed. However, the library security deposit is fully refundable upon program completion. Exceptional cases may be reviewed by the Finance Office.
An installment facility may be available for financially needy students. Applications for installment must be submitted to the BCSS Finance Office before the fee deadline. Supporting documents (family income certificate) are required. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
A late payment fine is charged: PKR 500 (1โ7 days late), PKR 1,000 (8โ14 days), PKR 2,000 (15โ30 days). After 30 days without payment, students risk de-enrollment. Please contact the Finance Office immediately if you face difficulty paying on time.

You can indicate your scholarship preference in the Online Admission Form. After enrollment, submit supporting documents (income certificate, sports certificate, Hafiz verification, etc.) to the Financial Aid Office. The committee reviews applications within 2โ3 weeks.
Generally, only the highest applicable scholarship is awarded at one time. The Sibling/Alumni discount (15%) is the only one that can be combined with another scholarship. Scholarships apply to tuition fee only โ miscellaneous charges remain payable.
Minimum CGPA requirements vary by scholarship: Chancellor's Merit (3.7+), Academic Excellence (3.0+), Financial Assistance (2.5+), Hafiz-e-Quran (2.0+), Sports (2.0+). Scholarships are reviewed each semester. Falling below the required CGPA results in cancellation.

Yes. Photocopies of certificates must be attested by a Grade-17 or above government officer, gazetted officer, or notary public. Online/uploaded copies for the application form can be clear scans; attested originals are verified at the time of physical enrollment.
Yes, students with awaited results (appearing candidates) can apply. You must provide your result before final enrollment. A provisional admission may be granted subject to meeting the minimum eligibility once results are announced.
Merit is primarily based on intermediate marks (percentage). For programs requiring an entry test, the merit formula is typically: 70% weight to intermediate marks + 30% to entry test score. Final merit lists are prepared by the Admissions Committee following HEC guidelines.
Merit lists are published on the official BCSS website (www.bcss.edu.pk) and on the university noticeboard. For Fall 2025, the first merit list is expected around September 5, 2025. Candidates are strongly advised to check the website regularly.
If you appear on a waiting list, you may be offered a seat if enrolled candidates withdraw or fail to complete enrollment within the deadline. Multiple merit lists may be published. Stay in touch with the Admissions Office during this period.
Yes, BCSS provides separate hostel facilities for male and female students. Hostels are equipped with basic amenities including internet, cafeteria, and security. Hostel allocation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact the Student Affairs Office for availability and charges.
BCSS provides a transport service covering major routes in and around Mingora. Transport fee is charged separately. Routes and timings are available from the Student Affairs Office at the beginning of each semester.
