Our Commitment to Integrity
BCSS operates under a comprehensive framework of institutional policies designed to uphold academic integrity, protect the rights of all community members, and ensure the smooth functioning of university operations. All students, faculty and staff are expected to be familiar with and abide by these policies.
BCSS maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards academic dishonesty. All submitted work must be original and properly cited. Plagiarism, cheating, and data fabrication are serious violations subject to disciplinary action.
- All assignments are screened using plagiarism detection software
- First offense: Warning + zero marks on the concerned assessment
- Second offense: Suspension from the course with an F grade
- Third offense: Expulsion and transcript notation
- Proper citation using APA/IEEE style is mandatory for all academic work
Regular attendance is essential to academic success at BCSS. The university enforces a minimum attendance requirement for all registered courses.
- Minimum 75% attendance required to sit in final examinations
- Absence below 75% results in automatic grade of "W" (Withdrawn)
- Medical leave requires a valid certificate submitted within 5 working days
- Attendance is recorded by faculty on the portal for every class
- Students can view their attendance status via the Student Portal at any time
The Examination Department oversees all assessment activities and ensures fair, transparent and standardised evaluation across all programmes.
- Mid-term exams: 30% of total course marks
- Final exams: 50% of total course marks
- Assignments, quizzes & class participation: 20%
- Students must carry valid BCSS ID to all examinations
- Grade appeals must be submitted within 5 days of result publication
- Make-up exams are available only for documented medical emergencies
All BCSS students are expected to conduct themselves with respect, integrity and professionalism — on campus, online, and when representing the university externally.
- Respectful behaviour towards faculty, staff and fellow students is mandatory
- Dress code: Modest and professional attire required on campus at all times
- Mobile phones must be silenced during all classes and examinations
- Campus is a smoke-free and drug-free environment
- Social media use must not bring disrepute to the university or its community
BCSS maintains a transparent fee structure with clear policies for refunds, deferrals and financial hardship cases.
- Tuition fees must be paid before the deadline published each semester
- Late payment incurs a surcharge as per the published fee schedule
- Withdrawal before Week 2: 100% refund of tuition
- Withdrawal between Weeks 2–4: 50% refund of tuition
- Withdrawal after Week 4: No refund applicable
- Financial hardship applications reviewed on a case-by-case basis
BCSS is committed to protecting the personal data of all students, faculty and staff in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
- Student records are strictly confidential and not shared without consent
- Portal data is encrypted and stored on secure servers
- CCTV footage is retained for 30 days for security purposes only
- Students may request access to their own records via the Registrar's Office
BCSS is committed to sustainable campus operations and environmental stewardship, led by the Sustainability Office.
- Single-use plastics are discouraged on campus
- Energy-efficient practices are required across all departments
- Annual tree-plantation drives are compulsory for all student societies
- Recycling bins are available throughout all campus buildings
